Associate in Fine Arts in Visual Arts (A10600)
The Associate in Fine Arts in Visual Arts degree shall be granted for a planned program of study consisting of a minimum of 60 semester hours of college transfer courses. Within the degree program, the institution shall include opportunities for the achievement of competence in reading, writing, oral communication, fundamental mathematical skills, and basic computer use.
Associate in Fine Arts degree candidates must complete the following general education courses in addition to professional program requirements for a total of 60-61 credit hours with an overall grade point average of 2.0 (“C”) or better.
Note: This degree is offered on Caldwell campus, Watauga campus, and online.
ACA-122 IS REQUIRED TO BE TAKEN IN THE FIRST SEMESTER FOR ALL COLLEGE TRANSFER STUDENTS.

This requirement is met by completing one of the following courses:

The following courses are required (15 SHC):
An additional 18-20 SHC of courses should be selected from the courses classified as pre major, elective general education, or UGETC within the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (AFA to BFA). Students should select these courses based on their intended major and/or transfer university. Pre major courses, listed below, should take priority.

- Graduates with the AFA in Visual Arts may have to pass a portfolio review and/or take additional hours before attaining junior status in a Bachelor of Arts or Fine Arts degree program at the senior institution.
