Regaining Eligibility Procedures
Students who are no longer eligible for aid because of GPA, Completion Rate, Maximum Time Frame or a combination thereof, may appeal their status if there are extenuating circumstances. The SAP Appeal Process outlined in the CCC&TI Student Handbook or Financial Aid SAP Policy.
If an SAP Appeal is approved, reinstatement of aid will remain in effect for as long as the student meets the terms of the appeal as described in the approved Plan-of-Action.
Individual Plan-of-Actions can include restriction of aid eligibility and/or registered credit hours.
If an SAP Appeal is denied, students will not be eligible for federal or state financial aid until minimum SAP standards are met.
What Is Included in Determining Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
- All credit hours attempted, including transfer credit, are to be considered in computing Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Standards, even during periods when the student was not an aid recipient.
- Registration may be impacted for students on Financial Aid Suspension or Maximum Time Frame.
