Clubs and Organizations

Students are encouraged to join clubs and organizations offered on both the Caldwell and Watauga campuses.

The following organizations are related to subject or department areas: Business Club, Cosmetology Club, Culinary Guild (Caldwell and Watauga), Physical Therapy Assistants Club, Medical Assisting Club, Alpha Gamma Beta (Nuclear Medicine Technology), Ophthalmic Club, Rho Alpha Delta, Sonography Club, Speech-Language Pathology Club, Skills USA Automotive Club and Skills USA Engineering Club.

The following general interest clubs are open to all students:
  • American Chemical Society-The American Chemical Society is a scientific society based in the United States that supports scientific inquiry in the field of chemistry.
  • Chess Club-Learn and play chess with fellow students.
  • Community Cobras- To volunteer in our community, campus, community, and campus activities.
  • Gender and Sexuality Alliance – Education, support, and allyship for the LBGTQIA+ community on campus.
  • Global Diversity Committee - focused on issues surrounding global awareness and Diversity, this committee meets on both campuses.
  • Global Students Club - Increases awareness of different cultures and issues worldwide, giving students a chance to explore these issues outside the classroom.
  • Heroes CAFÉ (Career Assistance For Everyone)- Educate and encourage adult students in the Transitional Studies program to learn practical entrepreneurial skills.
  • Juco 4 Jesus – Christian Fellowship and service projects.
  • Science Club - Offers science-related information and focuses on STEM subjects. Members of this club organize activities around science and participate in local and regional competitions.

All clubs must be organized in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Student Government Association. In addition, all student activities and clubs that receive or dispense funds must do so in accordance with procedures specified by the Vice President of Finance and Administration. Activities designed to raise funds and requests for using those funds must be approved in advance by the Director of Student Life and Engagement, the Vice President of Student Services, the SGA President, and the club advisor.

In some instances, the Executive Director of the CCC&TI Foundation may need to approve fundraising activities. Receipt and disbursement of funds shall be in accordance with provisions of the North Carolina Administrative Code, the State Auditor’s office, the NC Community College System, and of CCC&TI. The CCC&TI’s Executive Council retains final authority to approve, modify, or discontinue student activities or clubs.

Clubs and other extracurricular activities are available to all curriculum students. Students wishing to initiate new student activities or form a new club should contact the Director of Student Life and Engagement for assistance.
