Prerequisites/ Corequisites

CCC&TI students are required to meet all prerequisite and/or corequisite requirements at the time of registration for the course. Enrollment in and successful completion of required requisites ensures the student is academically prepared for higher level courses.  

Demonstrate college readiness with an unweighted high school GPA of 2.8 or higher. Students without a high school GPA or with an unweighted high school GPA of less than 2.8 may demonstrate college readiness with any of the following:

a.    Transfer credits in English, math and one college-approved reading intensive course
b.    Satisfactory SAT, ACT, or Accuplacer scores 
c.    Completion of a placement test from a North Carolina Community College
d.    Demonstration of college readiness through the Career and College Ready 
       Graduate (CCRG) program 
e.    Completion of developmental coursework at a regionally accredited higher 
       education institution with a grade of “P,” “C,” or higher

Students who do not demonstrate college readiness with an unweighted high school GPA of 2.8 or higher or through one of the measures described above may be required to complete one or more developmental courses prior to enrolling in college-level math and English courses and courses for which demonstrated college readiness is a prerequisite.
