Emergency Medical Technician - EMT
This basic level course is required to become an Emergency Medical Technician - EMT and prepares students to take the NCOEMS or National Registry examination. Topics covered are: basic pre-hospital emergency care such as treatment for shock, bleeding, burns, poisonings, childbirth, pediatric emergencies, CPR, use of ambulance equipment and communications to the emergency department.
Prerequisites:
- Must be 17 years of age on or before the official end date of the course.
- Possession of a high school diploma, high school equivalency or successful completion of an exam assessing basic reading comprehension skills at a minimum at the eleventh-grade level.
Malpractice insurance is required for EMT students. This fee is not refundable.
