Technical Rescuer
Technical Rescuer (TR) is a series of courses approved by the North Carolina Department of Insurance, Fire and Rescue Commission. Successful completion of the courses required will then certify a student as a TR. Examples of the courses offered in the series are: Rescue Operations, Ropes Basics, and Victim Management. Fee is waived for all students affiliated with a paid or volunteer rescue department.
Prerequisites:
- Must be 18 years of age prior to certification as TR, but may begin training at the age of 16.
- Possession of a high school diploma or high school equivalency prior to certification.
